The Warsaw Tax Advisory Department of TPA Poland was joined by Joanna Kubińska, who will take up the position of Associate Partner responsible for the transfer pricing team. The company is also expanding its structures responsible for corporate finance consulting. The position of the director in this team has been taken up by Tomasz Manowiec.

Joanna Kubińska is a recognized expert with a track record of over 20 years in the field of tax and transfer pricing advice. Working with the Big Four companies, she has carried out projects for Polish and foreign capital groups from the construction, chemical, retail, real estate, automotive, energy, fuel, gas and furniture sectors. Since the beginning of her career, she has specialized in transfer pricing and has extensive experience in providing a full range of related services, from documentation projects, to conducting disputes and proceedings regarding price agreements, to the development of international pricing policies for companies. She concluded one of the first Advance Pricing Agreements (APA) on behalf of a client. In TPA Poland, she will head the Transfer Pricing Team as an Associate Partner.

“The tax services market is undergoing major transformations resulting from the limitation of tax planning possibilities, with a simultaneous increase in risks and costs of administering tax settlements. Ever-increasing compliance obligations in conjunction with electronic reporting have provided the tax apparatus with new and rapid possibilities to control not only individual companies, but entire capital groups. One of the areas undergoing profound regulatory changes is transfer pricing. A paradigm shift in the distribution of profits in the value chain, a dynamic approach to intellectual property or the cost of capital, result in new risks and obligations on an unprecedented scale. That is why we consider Joanna’s joining our tax team as an important stage in the development of this business line and a significant expansion of our ability to create competitive solutions for our clients,” said Wojciech Sztuba, Managing Partner, TPA Poland.

The Business Advisory Department at TPA Poland, on the other hand, provides analytical and advisory services in the field of transactional and strategic support, as well as valuation. Since March this year the department has been expanded with the Corporate Finance Team, which will be headed by Tomasz Manowiec.

Tomasz Manowiec started his career in 2008 as an analyst in the brokerage office of Bank BGŻ, where he was recognized by the Puls Biznesu magazine as the top analyst of 2010. He has also worked for Noble Funds TFI, as an analyst, fund manager and share director. He managed investment funds with total assets worth up to PLN 800 million, and in 2015 he received the Golden Wallet award from the daily Parkiet for the best equity fund manager. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) title, the license of an investment advisor and a securities broker. He is also a member of ACCA and a lecturer at Lazarski University and the WSB University.

“Fast-paced economic transformations have left their mark on local and international businesses. These changes are taking place not only as a result of organic growth of companies, but increasingly often as a result of mergers and acquisitions. At the same time, we are seeing increased transaction complexity and growing uncertainty in the macroeconomic and regulatory environment. Another aspect of the functioning of the capital market is a much more restrictive approach of the supervisory authorities to the accuracy of reporting and valuation of assets by listed companies and funds. All this makes the support of competent and experienced advisors essential. This is exactly what our corporate finance team, headed by Tomasz Manowiec, offers,” said Krzysztof Horodko, Managing Partner, TPA Poland.

TPA Poland constantly expands its expertise and strengthens its business lines. After launching the legal practice under the brand name Baker Tilly Woroszylska Legal, the company announced the launch of a new business line in late 2019: TPA Real Estate Services, offering brokerage services, property valuation, investment advice, and investment financing and refinancing for the real estate sector.

“Our employees are the cornerstone of our success. After the merger with Moore Stephens Central Audit in autumn 2019, our team of nearly 300 people in offices in Warsaw, Poznan and Katowice can offer our clients comprehensive and interdisciplinary consulting and outsourcing services. Affiliation with the Baker Tilly International network, which, together with our law firm Baker Tilly Woroszylska Legal, we exclusively represent in Poland, provides us with access to the unique knowledge and experience of experts from 146 countries. We are pleased that our business model is effective and has been rewarded with the trust and satisfaction of our customers” – sums up Krzysztof Kaczmarek, Managing Partner, TPA Poland.
